Atlanta—Democratic congressional candidate Chalis Montgomery is scheduled to speak on voting rights Friday, as part of a holiday celebration hosted by a grassroots group working to secure the vote for all Georgians.
A Voice for All Georgia will hold the all-day event Dec. 1 in the courtyard of Central Presbyterian Church (201 Washington Street SW, across from the Georgia State Capitol). The program, titled “A Holiday Wish for All Voters: A Celebration & #RecallKemp Signing,” will take place from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and will feature a slate of speakers.
Montgomery is scheduled to speak at 11 a.m. . “Restoring voting rights is one of the most pressing issues of our time,” said Montgomery, who is running to represent Georgia's 10th district. “We must work to ensure that our democracy works for everyone.”
The event is also an opportunity to give to Atlanta’s homeless population, as attendees and participants are encouraged to bring blankets, clothing, new toys and non-perishables for the Central Presbyterian Homeless Project.
