Athens, Georgia—Chalis Montgomery will focus on community candidate forums ahead of the May 22nd primary.
Because of the last-minute addition of a third qualified candidate in the Democratic primary to represent Georgia’s 10th Congressional District, the Montgomery campaign believes it best to move forward with other scheduled community events—some of which conflict with previously selected debate dates.
“Rather than risk leaving out the candidate who qualified last week, we feel it is necessary to focus on events at which all candidates have been or will be invited,” Montgomery said. “While we appreciate the invitation from the Winfield campaign for this Saturday, we want to make sure this election is as inclusive as possible, and that voters get to hear from all candidates.”
The following candidate forums have been scheduled:
Saturday, April 14, 2018, 10 a.m., Eatonton Forum, Eatonton Courthouse
Monday, April 16, 2018, 6:00 p.m., Athens Community Agenda Candidate Forum, Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Athens, Georgia
Saturday, April 21, 2018, 10:30 a.m., The Democratic Candidates Meet and Greet, Georgia College, Milledgeville, Georgia
